GeekSI covers 100 percent employer contribution toward health insurance premiums for employees and 50 percent for dependents.
The Java Developer is expected to:
- Use Java technologies and Agile life cycle development,
- Analyze the needs and the environment to make sure the solution youre developing considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.

The Must-Haves: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below
- Must currently reside in the US
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent
- Experience: 2 years of experience as a Java Developer or Software Engineer
- Experience with Java, JavaScript, Java Beans, JSP, JMS, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, CSS, DHTML, HTML, or XML
- Knowledge of architecture styles and APIs, including SOAP, REST, or RPC
- Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, oral and written communication skills
Preferred Skills/Experience: The experience listed below are preferred, but not required, for this job
- Experience with containerization tools Kubernetes or Docker
- Experience with AWS, IaaS, and PaaS
- Knowledge of 508 Compliance requirements
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a Software Engineer, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications and systems.
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions that meet program and project objectives.
- Applies software engineering principles to create robust, scalable, and efficient code while ensuring alignment with technical specifications, quality standards, and security requirements.
- Potentially responsible for managing and executing software build, release, and deployment activities across development, test, and production environments. Potentially playing a critical part in ensuring smooth, reliable, and repeatable releases in support of Agile development cycles and continuous delivery practices.
