Senior Java Developer

 

What does a successful Senior Java Developer do at Fiserv?

As a member of an Agile development team, you will develop and support world-class high-performance payments and transactional gateway platform.

 

With more than 6 million merchant locations across the world, over 1.4 billion global accounts on file, an average of 12,000 financial transactions every second, and nearly 10,000 financial institution clients, Fiserv moves money and information in a way that moves the world.

 

What you will do:

• Create and maintain high-performance payment and transactional gateway platforms that redefine industry standards.

• Work closely with teammates, Scrum Masters, QA experts, solution engineers, and product partners to ensure you're a valuable member of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.

• Deliver top-tier code that's well-structured, maintainable, and sets the benchmark for quality.

• Conduct unit and integration testing, security scans, support QA, and meticulously review data encryption before deploying software into QA and upper environments.

• Be ready to step up when needed, taking charge of Level 3 support functions with confidence.

 

What you will need to have:

• A minimum of 7 years of experience developing high-performance transactional applications.

• 7 years of hands-on experience with Java/J2EE and the Spring Framework.

• 7+ years of experience implementing design patterns using object-oriented programming.

• 5+ years of experience in RDBMS (Oracle) and 5+ years developing RESTful APIs.

• 5+ years of experience developing Java persistence with JPA, Hibernate, and JDBC.

• 3+ years of experience with Source Code Management tools (Git, Gerrit, GitHub, GitLab), Software Project Management (Ant, Maven), and microservice development.

 

What would be great to have:

 

• Finance or debit/credit cards domain knowledge with in-depth knowledge of ISO 8583

• Experience with automated unit testing tools such as Junit, Mockito, and Cucumber.

• Proficiency in middleware technologies like Redis and Kafka.

• Experience in developing and deploying web applications on servers like JBoss, Apache, and Tomcat.

• Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and Agile methodologies.

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases.

More about this role:

• This is 100% Onsite position in our Berkeley Heights, NJ office.
