$80,000.00 /Yr. - $120,000.00 /Yr.
Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%
Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%
These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.

Join the AI Center of Excellence to help build the next generation of AIpowered capabilities that improve customer experiences and streamline internal operations. Youll work under the guidance of senior engineers to prototype, evaluate, and productionize AI components that integrate with our platforms and services. This role is ideal for an earlycareer engineer who enjoys learning, shipping, and iterating quickly in a collaborative environment thats advancing enterprise AI adoption across lines of business.
This position is on-site and located at our HQ in San Diego CA.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business partners to clarify requirements and turn them into wellscoped technical tasks for AIdriven solutions
- Build small prototypes and proofsofconcept to validate ideas; document findings and nextstep recommendations
- Contribute features to AI applications and services (APIs, data pipelines, model/prompt components) with code reviews and mentorship support
- Implement tests, observability, and basic safeguards for reliability and responsible AI usage under senior guidance
- Package and ship code through our version control and release processes, following secure coding and changemanagement practices
- Stay current on AI/ML and GenAI developments; share learnings with the team through notes, demos, or brownbags
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with software engineering fundamentals (data structures, testing, debugging)
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON for integration work
- Experience with git (e.g., GitHub or Azure DevOps) for version control and collaboration
- Exposure to large language models (LLMs) or generativeAI concepts through coursework, projects, research, or internships
- Clear written and verbal communication; ability to translate business needs into technical steps with guidance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship, coop, research assistantship, or 1+ year's of handson experience building AI/ML or datapowered applications
- Exposure to cloud AI services (e.g., Azure AI Foundry, Vertex AI) and MLOps basics (experiments, tracking, model packaging)
- Familiarity with LLM application frameworks or patterns (e.g., orchestration chains, retrievalaugmented generation)
- Basic understanding of modern authorization and secure app practices (JWTs, secret management)
- Domain exposure to financial services or highly regulated environments
